The Kfi team had another successful breakfast event at Urban Peak this morning, serving 130 breakfast burritos and other goodies to hungry Denver youth. Most of the kids we served this morning spent the night outside on the streets, so a warm meal and some fellowship was very welcome. We estimated that this was our largest turnout yet at Urban Peak’s drop in center, with a steady stream of customers for almost 2 hours. We mixed up the menu a little bit this morning by adding chocolate milk, nuts and gold fish. These were a big hit. Special thanks to Taylor for picking up the burritos, to Heather for doing a Costco run for the other menu items and to our newest team mate, Ian for helping us serve and making the kids feel welcome and chatting with them about music and skateboarding. We also brought in a load of socks for the kids, as the weather is starting to turn a bit cooler in Denver.
