The Kfi Team held its February community service event today at There With Care (TWC). This was our 3rd edition of preparing cleaning supply buckets for TWC, which has become one of our favorite organizations. TWC’s mission is to provide a wide range of thoughtful and fundamental services to children and families during the critical phase of a medical crisis. A common example is a child who has been diagnosed with cancer. This tragic event can devastate the family, so every bit of help they can get is important. Cleaning supply buckets are just a small part of the support that TWC provides the families. They also help drive the children to chemo and doctor appointments, deliver groceries and meals to the families and help in any other way necessary. Our cleaning supply buckets are delivered to families in such a crisis and include a variety of materials to ensure that the household is kept sterile and clean during the child’s recovery. The Kfi team was joined by special guest Chris Beiro from our business partner, Coalfire Systems. Chris was instrumental in our bucket stuffing assembly line. Heather Kilcoyne organized the event for us AND did the dreaded shopping trip to purchase the supplies. The last time the Kfi team attempted to tackle the shopping trip, it took the better part of an afternoon to locate all of the necessary items. This was a very rough and unusual experience and the last time many of us will ever set foot in Wal-Mart. Thank you Heather! And thank you team for taking the time to host the event and Chris for joining us.
