KFi Foundation Update

One of the best parts of working at KFi is our regular schedule of community service events throughout the year.  These events are a great opportunity to get together as a team, while at the same time helping others who are in need.  We have always strived to make these events “hands-on” and spend time with the people we are helping, in addition to providing them some type of service and/or goods.  Since March 2020, however, it has been very challenging to schedule events with the amazing organizations that we have partnered with for years (such as Urban Peak, There With Care and Roundup Fellowship) due to social distancing and other restrictions.  Recently though, we discovered some creative new ways to support one of our favorite organizations, There With Care (TWC).  TWC provides a wide range of thoughtful and fundamental services to families and children during the critical phase of a medical crisis.

In September, a few members of the KFi team picked up a truck load of groceries from TWC and delivered them to a family that TWC is currently helping while their child is in treatment.  We also surprised the family with a Nintendo Switch and some games for their kids. In October, we sponsored and assembled 40 “Care Bags” that were full of healthy food and staple items and will be delivered to families in need.  We set up an assembly line in the office back yard on a sunny Friday afternoon to pack the bags, which was a fun way to spend some time together as a team and drink a few beers.  And finally, TWC helped us identify 5 kids between the ages of 3 and 9 who were going through a really hard time with Leukemia, cardiac failure and other challenges and the KFi foundation bought them new bikes and helmets. A few members of the KFi team picked up the bikes at REI and delivered them to TWC in late October.  We have named this our Bikes4Kids program and believe that it has great potential!
